This is the last posting I'll do on the blog. I'd love to stay in touch with you , but from experience, I know that few students continue with their blogs even if they think they will. The best way to contact me from now on is through my email address: soffer@ncc.edu If you write to me and tell me you want to continue your blog, I'll check your blog as long as you continue to write.
Thank you all for the beautiful cards and generous gift! Thank you even more for the wonderful semester. It was a pleasure to come to work every day thanks to you!
I wish all of you much good luck at NCC or wherever you're off to! You're all going to be successful! Keep in touch.
Fondly,
Elaine

Pride
I am so proud of all of you! I didn't read your blue books thoroughly, but I looked a little at each of them. You did incredibly well! You kept it simple and seemed to have checked over your work. I hope you all get the results you deserve after your good performance today and all the hard work you've put in. Good job!

Almost the End
Hi, everyone. I hope you're having a nice weekend despite the dreary weather. I also hope you're all thinking positive thoughts about the coming week. I think it's going to be a good week filled with success. The best advice I can give you is to get a lot of sleep. It will help you to concentrate. You've all improved so much, and you all have it in you to pass. I'm very optimistic. Try to be optimistic too! See you tomorrow.

Fun Class
The professor who watched our class a little today said afterwards that she had a great time in the class. I just wanted to tell you I did too. You really are a great group and a lot of fun to be around every day. Thank you!

The Long Weekend
I hope all of you are enjoying the long weekend. None of you mentioned your class on Friday. I assume you were all there and that you survived without me!
I had a tiring but enjoyable weekend. I spent a lot of time cooking and eating, but I also got to see some relatives and friends I'm very close to but don't get to see very often. I see some of them only once a year -- on Passover. Both of my kids were sick, but not that sick. They were able to enjoy the holiday anyway.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow!

Multicultural Fair
I hope you all enjoyed the fair today. I want to congratulate all of you for the great job you did on your country pages. Our class had so many really wonderful projects. Your writing was definitely better than the other classes' writing (Don't tell anyone I said so, though!). I was very proud of you. I wish all of yours could have been chosen, but we wanted each class to be represented. Congratulations to Kim and Thony for having their projects displayed. I hope some of you, at least, saw the highlight of the fair -- Oliver's dance. During one of the rock songs, Oliver put down his backpack, got in the middle of the room and started doing an amazing dance. Everyone made room for him, and stood around him in a circle smiling and enjoying his performance. I smiled and laughed so hard that my cheeks hurt for a while afterward! Thanks, Oliver!
Have a good day tomorrow with Josef. I'll be spending the day in my kitchen cooking for all the company I'll have Saturday and Sunday for the Jewish holiday Passover. (Happy Passover, Debora!). I might be too tired and achy to move on Tuesday, but I'll try to be in class! See you then. Have a great long weekend!

Tiring Weekend
This was a busy weekend. This week, my younger daughter was in a play, so we went to see her last night and this afternoon. She was wonderful, of course (Of course, I am her mother!). I spent all day yesterday cooking for next week's Jewish holiday. I stood in my kitchen for around 8 straight hours. My legs hurt a lot today. I apologize for any mistakes I made commenting on your blogs tonight. I keep dozing off. I think it's definitely time to go to bed.

Boston Again
Yesterday, my husband, daughter and I drove up to Boston and back again. Yes, we did it in one day. My older daughter, who is a singer and actress at college, was in a show. We really wanted to see it (and her), but we only had the one day free this weekend. It was a quick but nice trip. The show was really funny, and she was great of course (I'm not biased or anything!). It was good to spend a little time with her and get some good food into her! We'll see her again in a couple of weeks when she comes to us for a Jewish holiday celebration.

Hello
I'm sorry I haven't written anything recently. I have had a very busy week, both at work and at home. You can tell how tired I must be since I kept forgetting things in my office today. I'll try to get a little rest over the weekend and be my organized self next week. I hope you all enjoy your weekends.

The End of Vacation
Sorry to remind you, but yes, we go back to school tomorrow. I'm actually looking forward to seeing you all again. I know we all needed some time off, but I feel like this vacation really disrupted the session since we had just started our half together.
I've enjoyed reading about what you've been doing this past week. I've had a good week of working less than usual, seeing plays and movies with my family, and spending time with my daughter. who was home from college. In a couple of hours, I have to say "goodbye" to her since she's going back to school today. It's always hard to see her go, but I'll see her soon. I don't know how most of you stay away from your loved ones for so many months and sometimes years. You are very brave!

My Brother's Visit
My brother has stayed at my house for the last two nights. He lives in Ohio, and I haven't seen him since September. I know I should have enjoyed seeing him, but I can't say that I did. We used to be so close, but in the last 5 years or so, our relationship has gone downhill. It makes me upset to think about it. I hope all of you can maintain good relationships with your siblings forever. Thanks for reading about my problems!

Back from Boston
I came back from Boston this afternoon. I was so happy to read all the blog postings you've been busy writing. They were so interesting to read!
My trip was great. I slept a lot, ate a lot, and didn't have to do any cooking or school work. What could be bad! The weather was sunny, but very cold and windy. We walked around a lot outside, but because of the weather, we found some inside things to do too. We went to the Science Museum, the movies (The Other Boleyn), and a play (Avenue Q). It was great to be together with my daughters and husband away from the phone and computers. Now, it's back to reality, but reality isn't that bad either.
I hope those who celebrate Easter are having a good day, and that everyone is enjoying his/her vacation so far.

This Weekend
I'm leaving for 3 days in Boston tomorrow. We're going to pick up my daughter in college, and then do a little sightseeing. I'm looking forward to three days where I don't have to cook or do any kind of work. If I don't respond to your blogs in the next few days, it's because I might not have access to a computer. I'll write back to you by Sunday night or Monday morning, though. I hope those of you who are celebrating a holiday enjoy it, and I hope all of you have a relaxing and/or fun weekend.

Bride and Prejudice
I'm glad most of you enjoyed the movie. I have to smile every time I think of it. The dances and Mr. Kholi are the things that make me laugh the most. I know Ashley showed you Bend it Like Beckam, so I guess you guys are becoming experts on Indian families.
Speaking of movies, Man asked me for recommendations. I suggested he ask you on his blog. He's followed my advice. Please go to his blog and leave him the name of one of your favorite movies!

Great Class
This really is a great class. Every single one of you already has a blog! Please begin visiting each other's blogs.
Different blogs require different ways to leave a message. If the word "comment" appears under or next to someone's blog posting, you can click there. That will take you to a comment page where you can write your comment. After writing your comment, you will probably have to do the word verification . Remember to click on Publish Comment before leaving the page.
Some blogs work differently. They don't show the word "comment." On those, you will need to click on the time that is written after the student's entry. That will bring you to a comment page. Then you can follow the same directions I just explained.
Let me know if you have any problems. Have a wonderful weekend.

Welcome
Hi, everyone. Welcome to my blog and the class. I know Ashley is a hard act to follow, but I hope you will enjoy the second half of the semester as much as the first half. I also hope that you will continue to improve your English skills. The blog should be a fun part of the class, so try to get into it right from the beginning. Write a lot of entries, and write a lot of comments on your classmates' entries. You'll be practicing your reading and writing while getting to know one another even better. (Hopefully you aren't already sick of each other!) I'm looking forward to a great semester! See you soon.
